Here’s one way to impress a life lesson upon young kids: Have them run up a huge hill over and over.

That’s how the students at Mountain Hill School in Atlantic Highlands raised $12,000 for the Rainbow Foundation last Week.

A great opportunity has come to Rainbow!  Jackie Catalano met with the company Primark and they have decided to choose Rainbow as the charity they would like to partner with.  They are presenting Rainbow with a check at their grand opening breakfast on Saturday, July 16th and will continue to support our cause and our events.  We are very excited!

They are located in the Freehold Raceway Mall. Please return the support by coming out for the breakfast, share the information and of course shop, shop, shop!

The Rainbow Foundation would like to thank Primark for their generous donation.  This European based company, which sells both clothing and home goods, just opened its first NJ store at the Freehold Raceway Mall.  We are so excited that Primark has chosen Rainbow as their local charity to partner with.  We can not wait to work together and make a difference in the lives of children.  Thank you Primark for this amazing opportunity.  We were invited to tour the store this morning and it is beautiful and the prices are unbelievable.  We look forward to the future and working together as a team!  So now everyone head over to the mall and check out PRIMARK! ❤️

We usually don't give very much thought to a penny.  Most of us find a penny to be an annoyance.  Yet one penny makes a world of difference in a market that trades billions of dollars every day.

I spent twenty-five years on Wall Street, most in the Government Securities Market.  When I was trader, an accountant put two hundred and fifty million bonds up for bid.  All of us liked the market and we wanted to buy the bonds.  We knew we had some pretty stiff competition so four of us put our heads together.  We knew the account, we also knew they would squeeze the trade to the last penny.  When we made the bid for two hundred and fifty million we made it plus one penny.

Our competitors made a bid of 99, our bid was 99 plus one penny.  So one penny did make a work of difference.  We won the bonds.

Now you are asking yourself what does that story have to do with Rainbow and the children who need our help.  Some folks have a mind set that we consider to be wrong.  They will say, "What can I do to make difference?".  The penny should serve as a reminder that what you may consider a small act of charity can make a difference.

The range of requests we receive go from one end of the scale to the other.  It can be something as simple as a $12.00 pharmacy bill or $4,500.00 for a ramp.  Whether the bill is $12.00 or $4,500.00, the need is just as great.

So the next time you think you can't make a difference, give some thought to the penny.
